Friendly Lunch

This past Sunday we were invited out to lunch by Hara-san, the very friendly president of Ryoki Tool Company.

His general manager, Hattori-san, was kind enough to drive us both to and from the restaraunt. It was Chinese food, which I guess is the Japanese equivalent of mexican food in California? It felt much more relaxed than the formal traditional Japanese meal we went to. In any case we all had a great time.

They were both very understanding with the children's inevitable rambunctiousness. They both have children of their own. Hara's are grown and he said our kids reminded him of the good times he had with his own kids. Hattori's son is younger than Teddy... so I hope our kids didn't frighten him off from having any more!

We were all stuffed by the time we left. Thanks again Hara and Hattori! This is the third meal we've been invited to by almost strangers while here in Japan. Such a friendly place!
